Technology.

While the Year 7s are at Levin Intermediate on Thursdays doing their Technology (Fabric, Food, Hard Materials and Art), The Year 6s are doing Technology Challenges.

These are based around the concepts of Managing Self, Participating and Contributing as well as Thinking and Problem Solving.

The first challenges we did were using marbles to make a speed run, hit a target or create a ramp, etc.

We used de Bono's Thinking Hats to reflect on the learning experiences.
Here is some of what the kids said...

Yellow Hat- What are the good points?
Finlay, "When the teacher chooses the team it works better because everyone helps"
Sophie, "It is fun but you are also learning"
Paige, "You get a break from bookwork and do stuff"

Green Hat- What new ideas are posible?
Carter, "It is creative because you design and create your own"
Haley, "Making and designing and working things out"

White Hat- What are the facts?
Ally, "It was kind of harder to make some things and other things are simple"
Jack K, "Newspaper isn't just for reading"
Kane, "Newspaper can be used for lots of things"

Black Hat- What is wrong with this?
Jared, "You don't always succeed and you can run out of time"
Millie, "When you loose your marble!"
Shelley, "If you stress it turns out wrong"

Red Hat- How do I feel about this?
Cameron, "Pretty good to do hands on stuff that you don't normally do"
Finlay, "Sometimes stressful but today was fun"
Shaniah, "Happy"
Mrs Shuker, "I really love giving the opportunity for hands-on learning and when the groups work really well together as a team"
Team Work!
