Will It Float?
For modules last term we got a whole lot load of stuff like Coke cans, fruit and other stuff. Then we got a container and filled it with water and put the stuff in to see if it floated or sank. Some of the stuff floated and some didn’t.Then we put it in salt water and checked our predictions to see if it made a difference . It did make a big difference by far. We did a test with plasticine and we made a boat with it and then put washes in it. We saw who could hold the most washes (weight) and Alex and Declan won.
Floating and sinking depends on things like weight, size, shape, density, air, etc.

Lastly we made our 'Oobleck Spaceships' and tried to get them to land on 'Planet Oobleck' for one minute and then be able to 'Take off' again. We had a lot of fun. Oobleck is made using cornflour and water and can act as both liquid and solid.
